Well, I guess everyone’s gotta write one of these.
So, my name is Lindsay….but you probably already knew that since you came from my site. ….wow, this is awful. Maybe that’s why I TALK for a living instead of writing.
Yes, I am a voice actress. How did this come to be, you may ask? *cricket* …come on, ask!
Alright, story time. Just sit down nice and cozy like (not too cozy, there’s children present!)
Well, a long long time ago I decided that I wanted to be a doctor…until I realized I hated most of Biology. Then I decided to throw all my “genius” out the window and go to school for animation. You know what? I loved it! It just took too long to do everything.
So, I then got a “real” job working in customer service for nearly a decade. In that time, I did a lot of talking: ‘Please buy our product even though it’s so not worth the money.’ talking, ‘Hey you slacker employees, get over here or you’re fired!’ talking, ‘Look at me, I’m so cute, won’t you pay me more money in this dead-end job?’ talking, ‘Oh no sir, it just looks like the person you paid took out $10,000 from your account instead of $10. Oh there’s no need to panic!’ talking. ….You get the picture.
Eventually I had a kid, and I did even more talking. However, some of this talking came in handy when I copied one of the voices from my son’s cartoons. Turns out I had a knack for this sorta thing. So, I bought myself a nice microphone and some headphones and found out that I was really good. Really, really good. Apparently other people thought so too, since on only my second audition I managed to book the lead role in a multimillion dollar animated series. Not bad for a beginner!
So, in this blog I will share my journey with you. From the very beginning, to who knows where! I’m certainly looking forward to finding out. Till next time!
